The technical writing course is designed to provide students with the basics of technical writing of manuscripts, progress reports and other technical documents that are critical for communication in industry, academic and industrial settings. In addition, a component of this course will be having an opportunity to review technical documents and in an iterative fashion learn from your peer-group.

The focus of the course will be on food systems and how microbiology impacts the safety and quality of food products. The course will address issues of food product development, quality, safety and the impact of the microbiome of foods on the individuals that consume it. Pre-requisite: college-level general microbiology course or permission of instructor.
