Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2016-2017.

The goal of this course is to cover the theoretical fundamentals of revenue management, as well as provide a glimpse of the frontiers of the field. We will first go over basic models of revenue management (static and dynamic single-product models, capacity allocation, protection level policies and overbooking) as well as topics related to modeling and solving large-scale practical problems (including network revenue management, bid-pricing and decomposition strategies). Time permitting, we will look at some more recent developments on the role of strategic behavior, recommender systems, learning and experimentation.

When Offered Fall.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisites: ORIE 6300, ORIE 6500 or equivalent.
