Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2016-2017.
An advanced overview of the newly emerging field of sustainability science that advances understanding of social-environment interdependencies and facilitates the design, implementation and evaluation of interventions that promote sustainability. Students will gain a better understanding of the complex problems of analyzing and managing socioecological systems in a rapidly changing world.
When Offered Fall.
Permission Note Enrollment limited to: junior/senior ESS majors.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: NTRES 1101, BIOEE 1610, AEM 1500, or permission of instructor.
Forbidden Overlaps Forbidden Overlap: BEE 3299.
Course Attribute (CU-SBY)
- Students will be able to demonstrate the critical evaluation skills needed to understand the principles and practices of sustainability science.
- Students will understand the potential and the limitations of sustainability science approaches to address the complex problems facing society.
- Students will show that they work well in teams and exhibit advanced written and oral communication skills.
