This is a PhD research seminar designed to examine and analyze theory and research on the topic of personality, with particular focus on its role in organizational research. We will consider several main themes, including the content and structure of personality, measurement of personality, person-situation interactions, and will consider the relevance of personality for explaining a variety of organizational phenomena, such as leadership, work performance, and organizational change. The emphasis in the seminar will be on becoming familiar with theories of individual differences as these relate to the workplace and on the design of personality research in organizations.
