This course surveys major themes of Overseas Chinese studies, including the history of Overseas Chinese migration, the relationship between China and Overseas Chinese, Overseas Chinese social structures and business networks, Overseas Chinese identity issues, ethnic Chinese in Southeast Asia and North America, and Chinese students studying abroad.
