Course Description

The purpose of this course is to understand modernity in Korean society and how Korean modernity has affected production of Korean popular culture. The course will examine from a critical perspective how contemporary Korean literature, cinema, television dramas, K-pop music, advertisement, and sports reflect sociopolitical dynamics of Korean society.
