Students carry out a case study of a North Brooklyn neighborhood by exploring the social determinants of health through fieldwork, meeting with health care providers, community advocates. In carrying out fieldwork, students will enter into discussions with local community based organization leaders, explore a North Brooklyn neighborhood by walking through it, making observations, and engaging local people in informal interviews, go on line to discover disparities indicators, and writing a co-authored final report on findings.
