FREN 1120

FREN 1120

Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2020-2021.

FREN 1120 is the equivalent level of FREN 1220 and also meets 5 times a week, but it is offered in the summer as opposed to FREN 1220, which is offered in the spring.  In order to achieve the same goals, this course is designed to provide students with a thorough grounding in French language and an introduction to intercultural competence as preparation for real-world application or eventual work in literary or cultural studies.  Classes provide context-and genre-specific practice in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, as well as analytical  skills for grammar, in order to help students develop the necessary tools for becoming independent language learners.

When Offered Summer.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: LPF 37-44 or SAT II 370-450.
Forbidden Overlaps Forbidden Overlap: due to an overlap in content, students will not receive credit for both FREN 1120 and FREN 1220.

Comments Students who have taken FREN 1210 may enroll.
