Veterinary students will develop and apply medical knowledge and skills, and receive timely, specific feedback as they progress along the continuum to becoming a competent clinician. Using primary care case examples and student-centered learning modalities, students will integrate knowledge across clinical disciplines to achieve a holistic approach to clinical reasoning and patient care. With modules designed to support competency development in the professionalism, communication, collaboration, financial, and evidence based-practice domains, students will also develop the knowledge and skills necessary to work effectively with clients and healthcare teams. Small group discussions will foster connections between faculty and students to provide opportunities for mentorship and professional development. Students will monitor their performance to create a professional development plan to guide their clinical rotation year.
