Course Description
Course information provided by the 2026-2027 Catalog.
This course focuses on the application of engineering economic analysis (EEA) methods through case-based learning. Students apply tools such as present worth, annual worth, rate of return, benefit-cost analysis, and payback to evaluate real and simulated engineering and business decisions. Emphasis is placed on selecting appropriate methods, structuring analyses for complex and ambiguous situations, and interpreting results in context. Students integrate AI tools to support modeling, analysis, and insight generation while critically evaluating their outputs and limitations. The course also develops critical thinking and professional presentation skills, with a focus on clearly communicating assumptions, analyses, and well-supported recommendations in realistic decision-making environments.
Prerequisites ENMGT 5941 or permission of instructor.
