ECON 3305

ECON 3305

Course information provided by the 2026-2027 Catalog.

This course is a ‘show and tell’ designed to introduce students to the variety of topics that economics spans. The vehicle is to lightly survey the work of some Nobel laureates working in different areas of economics. The advantage of focusing on prize winners is that much has been written about their work that is quite accessible to people with limited knowledge of economic methodology. Examples include Avner Greif, Daron Acemoglu, Al Roth, Gary Becker… I will devote each class to one laureate. Students and I will share the responsibility for presenting the laureate’s contribution to the class and leading the discussion.

Prerequisites ECON 1110 or ECON 2850.
