Learn basic rock climbing skills on real rock! We'll spend a glorious weekend climbing, tent camping, and relaxing at Minnewaska State Park in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. We will cover climbing equipment and technique, knots, belaying, rappelling, and natural history.


Fees Course fee, $425. Fee includes all climbing equipment, group camping gear and food. If you don't have your own, personal camping gear is available for rent at a 25% discount. For the specific information regarding this class, please visit https://scl.cornell.edu/coe/pe-courses.

    Course fee: $425. The first and second class will meet on campus in Bartels Hall, at the Lindseth Climbing Center. The weekend trip will first meet at Bartels Hall and then head out to Minnewaska State Park in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. Transportation is provided for classes off campus.
    Drop Deadline: Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Students will be responsible for the course fee and assessed a $50 administrative fee if they do not drop by the deadline.
