Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2024-2025.
Topics are selected from first-order quasilinear equations, classification of second-order equations, with emphasis on maximum principles, existence, uniqueness, stability, Fourier series methods. Additional topics as time permits.
When Offered Spring.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: MATH 2930, MATH 3270, or equivalent.
Distribution Category (SMR-AS) (MQL-AG, OPHLS-AG)
Comments Students will be expected to be comfortable writing proofs. More experience with proofs may be gained by first taking a 3000-level MATH course.
Regular Academic Session. Choose one lecture and one project.
