Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2024-2025.

The Circular Studio is a 2-credit course in which small teams of students explore ways to enhance the circularity of the Cornell campus and/or the surrounding community. The principles of circular economy include designing out waste, keeping materials in use at their highest value, and regenerating nature. A shift from a linear to a circular economy aims to benefit people and the planet by stewarding finite resources, reducing waste, and avoiding pollution through restorative social and technical processes. The core of the course involves project work oriented to making change; this is complemented by field trips to different parts of campus and sites in and around Ithaca and group discussions on aspects of the circular economy.
