This course provides an introduction to human robot interaction. Students will be working alone and in teams to design and examine novel ways for robots to interact with people. In parallel to the design projects students will be introduced to current research on human-robot interaction. Topics include: video interaction analysis, prototyping, and evaluation. This course will require students to re-design a physical robot using basic mechatronics skills with Arduino or similar platforms. Focus of the class will be on designing the interaction with the robot through experimentation with a physical system.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite or corequisite: INFO 4320, or an equivalent mechatronics course, or permission of instructor.

Comments Ph.D. students should enroll in INFO 6420.
