Critical Thinking in Genetics and Development

Course Description

This course will combine didactic lectures with student-led presentations and critical analysis of key literature on topical issues in molecular biology and genetics.

Permission Note Enrollment limited to: first-year PhD students in field of Genetics, Genomics and Development.

• Acquire fundamental knowledge, both conceptual and methodological, in critical areas of genetics, genomics, and development.
• Critique and explain factual claims, theories and assumptions.
• Identify the components of a rigorous research design.
• Describe the principles underlying core methods and techniques used in biochemistry, molecular and cell biology.
• Confidently express thoughts and scientific opinions in public.
