Jesse Reyes is a leading private equity research expert providing advisory services to the private equity industry. His lectures will focus on the venture capital and private equity industries from the limited partner investor's perspective. Topics include (1) an introduction to the private equity ecosystem including its structure, participants, history, and trends; (2) institutional private equity investing-examining how private equity investment fits into the institutional investors asset allocation mix; (3) an examination of private equity performance measurement and trends and how structural differences in private equity investments make optimized allocation decisions challenging; and (4) emerging issues facing the private equity industry such as new regulatory initiatives, fundraising and market efficiency challenges. There is an assigned problem set to be completed for class credit.

    **Attendance at ALL sessions is REQUIRED** Familiarity with Microsoft Excel functions and formulas is strongly suggested. Enrollment limited to: Johnson MBA, Grad, and Dyson UG Business students. All other students need approval by contacting Mr. Reyes at jesse@jessereyes.com. Add/Drop dates: January 17th at 9:00am through January 30th at 11:59pm or prior to first class if class is held before these dates. Students may attend first class, but must drop BEFORE the 2nd class meeting to avoid penalties. Send email to gm-registrar@cornell.edu before the 2nd meeting date to request the drop. There is a late fee of $100.00 for each add or drop transaction after the 2nd class meeting date. You will also receive a "W" on your transcript in addition to the late fees after the 2nd class meeting date. Non-Johnson students may add themselves to the waitlists during the enrollment periods, however Johnson Students have priority into the classes and non-Johnsons will be enrolled: 1) IF seats are still available after Johnson students complete their enrollment period and 2) IF the instructor allows. This counts as Management Science elective.
