This course builds on the material of NBA 5060 and focuses on more advanced financial statement topics and specialized industries. Topics may include investment research, accounting analysis, accounting quality, credit analysis, and advanced valuation issues.   Instruction focuses on a combination of lecture and case-based discussion.  Students are expected to have taken NBA 5060 or possess a good understanding of basic financial statement analysis.  The material is designed to broaden student's understanding of financial statement analysis and complement the tools developed in NBA 5060. The course deliverables include case write-ups, an equity research project, and a final exam.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: NBA 5060, finance immersion course, or permission of instructor.

    • Pre-req: NBA 5060 Financial Statement Analysis. • Open to Johnson MBA and Graduate Students • Add/Drop Dates: January 17th at 9:00am - January 30that 11:59pm with an additional Add/Drop period beginning March 15th at 9:00am to March 22nd at 11:59pm. • You may only add or drop a second-half class after March 22nd with permission of the faculty AND a late fee of $100.00 will be charged for each add or drop transaction. • If you are dropping after April 12th you will also receive a "W" on your transcript in addition to the late fees. • Non-Johnson students may add themselves to the waitlists during the enrollment periods, however Johnson Students have priority into the classes and non-Johnsons will be enrolled: 1) IF seats are still available after Johnson students complete their enrollment period and 2) IF the instructor allows. • Non-Johnson students must see their college registrar regarding policies connected with adding/dropping a second half Johnson School class. A petition may be required. This course is a Management Science Elective.
