Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2022-2023.

This course explores a variety of techniques for making appealing and convincing representations of digital data. Students will build a toolbox of techniques for representing information, explore ways for making visualizations interactive, investigate how cognition makes data easy or hard to understand, and use their web development and data-scraping abilities to construct new visualizations. Projects centered around current issues will allow students to make use of their new knowledge both individually and in groups, and in-class critique sessions will refine their understanding of what makes for successful and unsuccessful designs.

When Offered Spring.
