TECH 5240

Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2020-2021.

In a world gone digital, your product's interface is the gateway - and often, the main experience - for your customer, making the interface the most critical aspect of your brand. Every professional in the digital age must know how to build good products. And every product lives and dies with the interface. In this course, you will learn the principles of good user experience (UX) and interface (UI) design; integrate design, data, and technology in order to balance function and emotion; and understand how to make your product useful, usable, and desirable. A picture might be worth a thousand words. But an interface can be worth a thousand pictures. "Once you get there," said Steve Jobs, "you can move mountains". Students with no design training or background are encouraged to join.

When Offered Spring.
