PHYS 4485

PHYS 4485

Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2020-2021.

Designed to provide qualified undergraduate students who possess an interest in teaching with a structured experience teaching physics.  Participants collaborate with instructors and graduate teaching assistants to facilitate cooperative learning sessions, laboratory investigations, or homework help sessions.  Total weekly time commitment is 3-4 hours, including instructional contact time (2 hours), preparation time, and instructional staff meeting time.

When Offered Fall, Spring.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: previous enrollment in course to be taught or equivalent, and concurrent or previous enrollment in PHYS 4484.

Comments Credit will appear on transcript, but does not count towards graduation. Students enrolled in courses for undergraduate teaching assistants may petition once to have the non degree credits count toward good academic standing. This would allow continued eligibility for graduating with distinction in all subjects, but would disqualify the student from being on the dean's list that semester.
