The continued half-century exponential growth of computer power has disrupted many historical business strategies and created new paradigm Shifts with the internet, the world wide web, search engines and mobile phones. Domains such as photography, television, entertainment, and the Computer industry itself have already been transformed and new technologies are emerging for communication, education, tourism as well as Scientific research for medicine, design, and manufacturing to name a few. To predict the disruptive changes of the future, it is best to first understand the technologies and their growth rates themselves. This short seven-week course attempts to explain the fundamentals behind the growth rates with emphasis on pictorial information including Computer graphics, modeling, rendering, simulations, and digital delivery systems. Topics such as social media, government regulations and Ethics will also be discussed.

Permission Note Priority given to: students with technology of science backgrounds.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: at least one basic computer science course, or permission of the instructor.

    The instructor for this class will be teaching Virtually Enrollment limited to: Johnson Students. Graduate students and Undergraduate Seniors by permission Only. **Attendance is Required** **At least one programming course is required to take this class or permission is required from professor to enroll" Hybrid: rotational in person attendance. You will be notified of your eligibility to attend in person and students should connect remotely until a seat is assigned. There will be no enrollment from a wait list into a class if you have a time conflict or if it will create an overload. Students dropping this course after February 15, 2021 will be assessed a fee of $100. The deadline to drop the class without a “W” is March 8, 2021 @11:59pm but you will still be charged the $100 late fee.
