Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2020-2021.
The course provides a hand-on experience for learning the key philosophies and tactics of entrepreneurial activity and the entrepreneurial mindset. The unique focus of this class is that it is designed for Scientists & Engineers who would start a business that would have meaningful technology at the heart of the company. This includes the development of a viable business concept, customer discovery, the evaluation and planning of the start-up businesses, go-to-market strategy, intellectual property, and financing. The course utilizes lectures, directed readings, and guest speakers. The goal is a meaningful understanding of how to design a new business venture, achieved by building and communicating the framework for a viable business.
When Offered Fall, Spring.
Permission Note Enrollment limited to: non-Johnson School students only. Priority given to: MEng, PhD, MS and undergraduate seniors.

Instruction Mode: In Person
The Instructors for this class will be teaching both In Person and Online. Enrollment limited to: NON-Johnson Graduate and UG Seniors only. Hybrid: rotational in person attendance. You will be notified of your eligibility to attend in person and students should connect remotely until a seat is assigned. There will be no enrollment from a wait list into a class if you have a time conflict or if it will create an overload. Students dropping this course after February 22, 2021 will be assessed a fee of $100. The deadline to drop the class without a “W” is April 5, 2021 @11:59pm but you will still be charged the $100 late fee. Deadline to change the grading basis for Student Option classes: April 5th
