Fundamental treatment of low voltage electrical circuit design as applied in industrial control and power systems, with multiple hands-on electrical controls laboratory exercises. Process safety assessment using HAZOP methods, and design of control devices and loops to assure process safety. Use of state of the art measurement, control equipment and software tools. Documentation of process control systems, sizing, applying and selecting appropriate measurement devices for common process variables. Study of industrial process units employed for design measurement and control systems that are robust and provide a high degree of safety. Commissioning and tuning an integrated pilot-scale chemical plant.
