Introduces veterinary students to primary care small-animal clinical practice through direct exposure to the Community Practice Service of the Cornell University Hospital for Animals. Students observe restraint, examination, and routine treatment of pets and communication with clients. Formal and informal discussions will occur to present and discuss topics of primary care general practice. Successful completion requires satisfactory participation during 4 half-days of clinical service, written assignments and attendance in lectures.
