Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2019-2020.

Behind every technology product or service are the humans who created, built, and maintain it. And behind every team of humans are their leaders. This class, taught by accomplished practitioners, explores the foundational skills necessary to be a successful technical lead, software development manager, VP Engineering, or CTO. We'll cover how to hire and inspire developers, how to structure work and measure progress, how to build a engineering culture for your team and throughout your company based on values and principles, how to make strategic technical and architectural decisions, how to evaluate and implement the appropriate processes and practices for your company and your team, how to promote and nurture diversity and inclusion, and how to, when necessary, deal with toxic elements.
