Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2018-2019.
This course is designed for students interested in refining and implementing the social innovation ideas begun in OB 4245: Managing and Leading Social Innovation. We will discuss key steps in the social innovation process, including assessing the opportunity structure, framing the idea and developing a compelling pitch, analyzing and leveraging social networks, and mobilizing supporters. Working in project teams, students will apply these steps to their chosen social innovation idea, with the goal of having a fully developed initiative in place by the end of the semester. Class sessions will involve a mix of full group discussions, small group working sessions, and team presentations. Instructor approval required for enrollment.
