Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2017-2018.
This course will cover string theory, from the fundamentals to areas of current research interest. Topics will include quantization of the bosonic string, the Polyakov path integral, D-branes, orbifolds and orientifolds, and quantization of superstrings. More advanced topics such as dualities, M-theory, AdS/CFT, and Calabi-Yau compactifications will be included as time permits.
When Offered Fall, spring.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: PHYS 7652.
