This course is a broad interdisciplinary introduction to the field of neural engineering. The goal is to offer students a hands-on experience to learn about circuits, devices, and algorithms for diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders such as epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, etc. Topics include basic neural physiology, various methods to measure brain activity, practical aspects of electrical recording, large-scale neural data acquisition and processing, feature analysis and classification, neuromodulation techniques for closed-loop control and therapeutic intervention, and discussion of emerging topics.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: ECE 2200 and ECE 3150, or permission of instructor.
