This course provides an introduction to finance. Basic financial accounting, time value of money, stock and bond valuation, capital budgeting, portfolio theory, asset pricing models, cost of capital, capital structure and real options will be covered. Application of theory and practical applications will be stressed in lectures.

Permission Note Enrollment limited to: Non-Johnson School Graduate Students, seniors and juniors only. Graduate students have first priority in the event the course is oversubscribed.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite for spring only: a course in financial accounting.

Non-Johnson Students – February 2nd – February 8th You may add or drop a full semester class after February 8th only with permission of the faculty. A late fee of $100.00 will be charged to your bursar account, for each add or drop transaction. If you are dropping after March 22nd you will also receive a “W” on your transcript in addition to the late fee.
