Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2016-2017.

A research seminar-cum-practicum devoted to the 18th century's most famous violinist and teacher of violinists, Giuseppe Tartini (1692-1770).  We will study his teaching methods, evaluate the sources for his violin music, debate the various theories of editing early music for modern performance, assemble and edit a volume for the newly-launched Tartini Opera Omnia (Padua), and test our edition by mounting a concert of the music it contains.

When Offered Spring.
