Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2016-2017.
The purpose of this course is to provide a strategic overview of employee benefits and how organizations may leverage what is often one of the largest and most variable P+L costs to drive engagement. As organizations compete to acquire and retain the highest caliber talent, the role of employee benefits has become crucial in order to strengthen the employee value proposition. This course will focus on the different ways to create a unique employment brand with benefits such as health care, wellness, recognition programs, retirement and savings plans, etc. We will address the power of internal employee networks and employer coalitions, as they drive innovation and help keep business leaders on the pulse of employee satisfaction. In addition to employee benefits, you will gain an overall understanding of other practices within Human Resources such as creating a compelling business case, measuring a program's ROI, leveraging social media, managing consultant/vendor performance, lobbying and the regulatory process and other skills to maintain an employee-focused workplace. This will be a lecture-style course combined with group discussions, case studies, and guest speakers.
