Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2016-2017.

The goal of this course is to understand how state-of-the-art digital communication systems are designed and why they are designed as they are. The lectures cover methods for combating noise and intersymbol-inference, especially orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM), which forms the basis for Wi-Fi, next-generation cellular systems, DSL, and cable modems. Through laboratory exercises, you will build a working audio-band orthogonal frequency-division multiplexed (OFDM) system.

When Offered Spring.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: ECE 3100, ECE 3250.

Comments Culminating design experience (CDE) course.
