STS 1121

Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2015-2016.

Why do so many women and minority students drop out of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields? Is this true at Cornell, the Alma Mater of so many top-ranked scientists (including Nobelist Barbara McClintock)? This course seeks to investigate this topic with a variety of projects and writing assignments that build from class descriptions and analyses of majors to the final research paper. Possibly using Cornell's own University archives.

When Offered Spring.

Satisfies Requirement First-Year Writing Seminar.
