Course Description

This course explores network and economic theories related to issues of international health and development. Students will learn theory and use it to evaluate international health and development policies. We will look at how diseases like Ebola alter network formation and how individual behaviors change in response to risk of HIV.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Recommended prerequisite: ECON 1110.
Course Attribute (CU-UGR)
- Discuss, debate and evaluate economic theories of behavioral responses to international health and development challenges.
- Propose an economic model to explain an issue in health and development and explain how this model could be tested.
- Assess the quality of policies aimed at improving health and development conditions using the economic theory learned in this course.
