This course is an introduction to data science tools and applications. Topics include web scraping, storing and retrieving information from databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Neo4j, dealing with large or long-running computations, and creating web APIs to explore data and present results. The course will begin with an intensive programming "bootcamp" to provide a foundation for subsequent material and assignments.  Implementations will typically be done in Python, although suitable alternatives may be used. Lectures will be complemented by lab exercises that emphasize implementation of ideas covered in lectures.
