This course provides an introduction to business finance through lectures and assignments. Topics include basic financial accounting, time value of money, stock and bond valuation, capital budgeting, portfolio theory, asset-pricing models, cost of capital, dealing with risk, capital structure, acquisitions, and options. Application of theory to practical applications will be stressed in the lectures. Letter grade only, based on  examinations, problem sets, and group case reports. This course is similar in content to the MBA core course, NCC 5060.

Permission Note Enrollment limited to: Non-Johnson School Graduate Students, seniors and juniors only. Graduate students have first priority in the event the course is oversubscribed.

Pre-Req: Financial Accounting Add/Drop Dates: Non-Johnson Students ONLY: January 19th at 8:00am to February 10th at 4:00pm. You may add or drop a first-half class after February 10th with permission of the faculty. A late fee of $100.00 will be charged for each add or drop transaction. If you are dropping after March 23rd you will also receive a "W" on your transcript in addition to the late fees.
