Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2015-2016.
A supply chain is a network of organizations that are involved in the different processes and activities that produce value in the form of products and services. Increased competition, expanding product variety and more demanding consumers require more efficient supply chains. Supply chain management is an essential competitive tool. Innovations arise from three main sources: application of information technology, reconfiguration of the supply chain network, and modification of incentives. Effective supply chain management can enable companies to increase market shares, reduce costs, and improve customer service. In this course, we will introduce main strategies and best practices of supply chain management. We will address the following issues: Outsourcing and supply chain coordination; Global project management; Supply chain finance; Sustainability and supply chain management; Humanitarian logistics and healthcare distribution.
