Advanced course on the preparation of polymers that are changing our lives. Learn the tools and strategies for preparing these new materials. Understand how molecular design determines application and properties. Polymer families include: opto-electronic polymers, photopolymers, liquid crystal polymers, block polymers, biomimetic polymers and common synthetic polymers. Synthetic tools include: step growth polymerization, chain growth polymerization, living polymerization, biosynthesis, organic-inorganic hybrid synthesis.
