Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2015-2016.
Focuses on the role of materials and natural systems in design at multiple scales. Design strategies, theory and vocabulary in landscape architecture and allied disciplines are explored within the projects.

Fees Course fee: supplies and fees: approx. $250; field trip: approx. $250.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: LA 2010 with grade of C or better.
Course Attribute (CU-CEL, CU-SBY)
- Students will become familiar with and gain confidence in the design process as a method for solving site planning and design problems.
- Students will gain the ability to identify, analyze, and evaluate on-site and adjacent landscape systems (both natural and man-made) and their interactions.
- Students will be able to develop conceptual designs through three-dimensional models and quick sketches.
- Students will be able to expand conceptual design models into spatially defined and refined site plans, sections, diagrams, and maps.
- Students will develop representational skills to clearly communicate design intent.
