The course is a continuation of Tools in Applied Macro I and aims at equipping students with the tools necessary to conduct state of the art applied macroeconomic research. The course will introduce students additional statistical models in applied macro, including nonlinear time series models and panel VARs. Tl course will also cover recent topics in macro theory and empirics, such as news driven business cycles, tb role of uncertainty, and identifying the effects of fiscal and monetary policy. Finally, the course will intro< the students to useful macroeconomic datasets.
