This course is designed for dairy-focused veterinary students and will expose them to diagnosis and management of diseases of dairy cattle, focusing on individual animal medicine and surgery rather than production. According to and utilizing existing hospital cases, students will meet with clinicians during the academic year to examine and discuss cases. Case logs, literature review, attendance, and class presentations will be required.

When Offered Fall, spring.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: completion of first-year vet curriculum.

Comments Students selected after submission of résumé, letter of intent, and documentation of career focus on dairy cattle. 0.5 credit requires participation in seven sessions; 1 credit requires participation in 14 sessions during the semester; students may change credits up through seventh week of class; course may be taken up to three semesters.
