The course will focus the notions of ''sensory power'' and ''politics of sensation'' through the analysis of contemporary forms of biopolitical governmentality in western democracies.The ethical-aesthetical governmental dispositiv implemented in Italy by Silvio Berlusconi's mass-mediatic populism will be used as a case-study, with specific regard to Berlusconi's sexual politics, as emerged in a sequence of sexual scandals between 2009 and 2011, and to its consequences on the heteronormative redefinition of gender roles.
