Bioethics is the study of ethical problems brought about by advances in the medical field. Selected topics may include: ethical issues with advance care planning;  ethical issues with informed consent; ethical issues with resource allocation or access of costly or scarce therapies; ethical issues with compulsory medical treatment; ethical issues with advanced reproductive technologies; ethical issues with genetic screening and testing; and ethical issues of medical research in Low and Middle-Income Countries.
