Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2014-2015.
Introduces molecular, genetics, and genomics approaches in plant senescence and postharvest research. Topics include gene expression, regulation, and function associated with physiological and biochemical changes in senescing, maturing, and/or ripening plants or parts. Genetic manipulation of senescence/ripening processes are also discussed.
When Offered Spring.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: HORT 4250 or permission of instructor.
Comments 12 lectures.
Outcomes- Able to review current research and development in plant senescence. The emphasis will be on the molecular aspects of senescence although the physiology, biochemistry, cell biology, ecology, and the evolution of senescence.
