Course information provided by the 2026-2027 Catalog.

What happens when life doesn’t go according to plan? This course explores how setbacks, failures, and unexpected turns can become powerful catalysts for growth, reinvention, and new directions. Through informal conversations with guest speakers across fields—science, policy, business, and the arts—we will explore real stories of “plot twists” and pivotal moments where individuals faced critical decisions and transformed challenges into opportunity. This is a discussion-based course designed to be engaging, reflective, and relevant to your own life and career journey. Held in the House Professor Dean’s apartment, each session will include tea and desserts alongside thoughtful conversation. This is a 1-credit S/U course, just show up, join the discussion, and be part of a supportive community each week.
