Course Description
Course information provided by the 2026-2027 Catalog.
This seven-week course is Part I of the capstone course for second-year MPA students. In this course, MPA Capstone students work with client organizations to conduct research to address a current policy or public administration problem. Students in the Domestic Capstone section will work with client organizations working in public affairs in the United States. Students in the International Capstone section will work with client organizations working in public affairs internationally.
Enrollment Priority Enrollment limited to: Master of Public Administration (MPA) students.

Learning Outcomes
- Students will demonstrate the ability to apply learning from the MPA curriculum to real-life organizational problems related to policy and public administration.
- Students will demonstrate project and team management skills.

- Students will demonstrate written communication skills.
- Students will demonstrate critical, creative, and reflective thinking (analysis, synthesis, and evaluation skills), providing with relevant and useful research and recommendations for organizations working in the policy and public affairs space.
