Covers the fundamentals of computer-aided manufacture (CAM) and computer numerical control (CNC) programming. The course is a hands-on series on CAM and provides practical applications for the use of Gcode and solid modeling software, CNC mill and/or lathe setup, tool selection, and operation. May not be used to fulfill any ME requirement.

Comments Emerson green apron required for lab add-on.

Outcomes
  • The student will be able to describe the role of machine tools in history and current industry.
  • The student will be able to list and describe the capabilities and limitations of machine tool technology.
  • The student will be able to perform CNC programming both manually and in AutoDesk Fusion 360.
