Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2024-2025.
Intended to provide a detailed theoretical development of current ideas in cosmology. Topics include Big Bang cosmology and the universe's matter content; a cosmological chronology of the very early universe, symmetry breaking, inflationary scenarios, nucleosynthesis, recombination, growth of irregularities, galaxy formation and clustering, dark energy; current and future cosmological observational approaches.
When Offered Fall.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: statistical physics, quantum mechanics, and electromagnetic theory courses.
