Course Description

Performs the traditional repertoire of Central Javanese gamelan.

When Offered Fall, Spring.

Permission Note Priority is given to: those with prior experience (MUSIC 2341 or similar), but newcomers with applicable musical ability are welcome.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: MUSIC 2341 or equivalent.

Comments The ability to read staff notation is not required, but a good ear and sense of rhythm are helpful. Individual instruction is offered as necessary. Those wishing to learn more advanced instruments and techniques should also enroll in MUSIC 4641.
